What a yogic sleep session includes
Yoga Nidra or yogic sleep is an age old practice involving a reclined guided meditation designed to help you move into progressively deeper states of relaxation and non-doing. Yoga Nidra will help you sleep better, neutralize stress, and take you into healing theta and delta brain wave states where organs and systems of the body are nourished and regenerated. It’s said that 45 minutes of this yogic sleep experience is equivalent to hours of sleep, and slows the rate of aging helping you feel and look younger.
Yoga Nidra helps improve performance and personal intentions by planting them at the subconscious level beneath habituated thoughts. It is also used to help veterans and other heal from PTSD. Spiritually, yogic sleep is as a sublime experience of oneness with the Divine—of resting in, merging with, and being like a wave in the vast ocean of God. Post-pandemic/in-person experience enfolds vibrational sound healing through gentle Himalayan Singing Bowls.
How to prepare for yoga nidra
Please dress in layers with comfortable, non-restricting clothing. Props: A folded blanket, a yoga mat if you have one (or carpeted surface) and—optionally, yoga blocks as well as a pillow or bolster for under the knees to support your back during our “letting go” restful, reclined savasana experience.
